Here's my game-in-progress uploaded (http://www.haxorleet.com/flashtoons/game.html) , but it runs really slow, is there a way to make it go faster?
So is it like impossible to get new weapons and ships and stuff? I played for like 10 minutes but all I could get was new ammo.

One problem is that if the ship is going fast enough and you shoot it the little cloud thinger can still kill you.

i was just curious because it's so much faster offline
and i'm doing the removeMovieClip(); so the bullets and ammo and stuff get deleted

Way too high man... Seriously... Any browser doesn't support probably more than 30 to 35.... So... :D
Plug it down to 30 - 35 fps.. And then change around some moveent variables and try it then.
okay thanks :) check it now, it's faster and stuff, i dropped the frame rate to 30 and upped all the speed variables.
Looks to me like a frame rate issue. The game itself isn't going slow, notice when you shoot a bullet it that it doesn't lag at all. If it did, then you would need to worry about processor intensivity, but it looks to my like it's just a frame rate issue.
Lets see... make sure you are erasing every movie clip once it is dead (bulllets, blown up ships...), increase freame rate, mayhaps...
You might try those.

it's my first game ever, so i'm glad you like it.
What is your frame rate on that... I can tell that it isn't too fast... And you may want to up the actual ship movement speeds and bullets speeds and all that fun stuff. :)
It should't be too intensive at all though... Nothing really slowing it down on screem that should be.... :D
