We usually have it with mashed and stringbeans with the lemon pepper but I used to love just plain hot white rice with raw egg yolk on it haha. Or how bout some Monkey Bread?
How about creamy mashed potato with a coconut and basil sauce.

Served along some buttery herb, or sundried tomato and basil couscous. (Couscous is basically teeny, tiny bits of pasta served in a similar manner as flavored rice pilaf.)
Sounds unique to me :)
I serve my steak with roasted tomatoes and asparagus with rosemary and garlic butter on mushrooms.
Or you could serve porcini mashed potatoes and red wine sauce. Put some porcini water (dried porcinis soaked in water makes a dark sauce) like a tablespoon in with your mash with butter and milk and finely dice the rehydrated porcinis to mix through.
