I have put flea collars on the cat and dog, sprayed my carpet with flea spray & vacuumed several times, but we still get bit by fleas in the carpet. What works best to get rid of them. Thanks.
you can go to a pet store and ask for a house "bomb" for bugs such as fleas. this should take care of it..there are also sprays that you can us to spray them dead..
Ugg.
Here is a website that we used when the dogs brought in fleas;

I've been through this a few times myself...I tried all the foggers and sprays, read up on home remedies and found several suggestions to use 20 Mule Team Borax on your carpet and furniture. Nothing worked, and I just had to give in and call an exterminator. I honestly think nothing works other than a professional. Sorry, I'm sure that's not the answer you wanted to hear but I wasted my money on stuff you get at the store and in the meantime the fleas just multiplied. Good luck Help! PS get the flea medicine at the vet. it works well, but it won't kill the fleas you already have in your carpet. it's a bit expensive but worth it!
I use flea powder intended for shaking on dogs and cats with active fleas - looks like baby powder. I sprinkled it lightly across the carpet where I have noticed fleas and used a stiff broom to brush it into the nap. Rather than leaving it there forever to possibly get into food, etc., I vacuumed it and dead fleas and eggs up the next day, probably leaving some in the carpet, but much less than when loose. Did a good job with indoor/outdoor cats. Then I used flea collars, now I use Revolution which costs more but does fleas as well as heartworms, etc.
ditch the flea collars for one(as they hardly work at all and each time you touch them on your dog you get the toxins on your hands and your dogs are spreading it all over things they rub where the collar ), and talk to your vet about flea/tick prevention (like frontline)
You have to treat your yard, treat your house and treat your animals. I like Frontline or Revolution to treat the animals.
It can be a very frustrating problem, but if you treat all three sources, it will control and hopefully eliminate your flea problem.
I agree with Cheryl B. Use a professional.
Step 1
At night warm a large bowl 3/4 full with water.
Step2
Place a night light with a green light bulb over the bowl.
Step3
In the morning just pour out the water and repeat. Fleas are attracted to the green light and the warm bowl of water. They will jump in the water and drown.
Also sprinkle salt on your carpet everyday.
Hi! :)
Frontline works best....
