Some advisers say homeowners should get equity out of their homes :: Apr 16, 2008 "Falling home prices are one of the reasons people should look at this option "financial planners have tried to [transfer] that model to http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/08107/873631-30.stmHOME | I'm 14.I've ALWAYS wanted to model, sicause since I was like 10 my mom,her friends etc told me I should be a model when I grow up.But some friends of mine would make fun of me when I said I wanted to model, they'd be "coughing"and say I'm too fat.I remember when I was 11,a lady gave me a card saying I should try modelling(it was for photography)but the card did say it's for 16years and older,so I didn't do anything with it...Now I'm trying to lose weight(By exercising and replacing sweets with fruits),coz I'm 5'4 and 125lbs(I know it isn't FAT,but it still is heavy for modelling)so that maybe agents would suggest modelling. When I was like 5,the doctor told my parents I'd be 176cm(the minimum for runway modeling is 173cm).do you think it's possible to get discovered and only be 5'4?Or would I have to wait till I get taller to stand a chance?Oh and my sister does photography at varsity and uses me as her model so I have some nice pics, but how do I even make a portfolio? Please help! Curing Healthcare: Think Small and Don't Rock the Boat:: Oct 1, 2007 This model fails for two reasons. First, each entity is already . Some say we should do very little to deliver high-value care to http://curinghealthcare.blogspot.com/2007/10/think-small-and-dont-rock-boat.htmlHOME |
hi dear!! hey come on hope that's what you really wanna do in life!! if yes then I'll advice you to go and check some websites!! else go and get some help from your sis...............maybe she can help ya to get some contact.........or simply try to ask other models..........hope you'll be able to become a good and successful one!! good luck honey........
You should first try sending your photos to some local magazines, because for all you know they might be interested. Then the exercising and the other stuff-just don't overdo it.And moreover you must realize how not every model is very tall, you can become an actress as well and there's time you'll grow don't worry.
ALL THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm sure things will work out fine if you take them one at a time.
Its all about networking. As in, starting finding some photographers in your area. Email them, call them, whatever. You need to get a good set of photos to start a portfolio. From there you can branch out to other people and get more pictures. Its a lot of work but it's all about just branching out and talking to anyone you can to get known. As for you height, you probably can't do runway modeling, but just editorial stuff. Take Hannabeth for example(google her if you don't know who she is). She is only 5'2 and she models(not runway of course.)

here is the true answer:
Be serious about modeling - No photographer wants to work with someone who finds this profession to be a joke or something to mess around in. You need to be on time to shoots, look presentable for the shoot, credit accordingly, and be cooperative.
Step2
Join modeling websites - Websites such as www.ModelMayhem.com and www.OneModelPlace.com are great modeling sites to join. Here you can create your own profile, specify what type of work you're interested in, upload pictures, and search for photographers, hairstylists, makeup artists, etc in your area.
If you have no previous experience and no professional-looking photos, find a friend who is handy with a camera to take a couple simple full-body shots and face shots. This will give photographers an idea of your look and will look better than random candid shots in your bedroom.
In the modeling world there are many types of compensation for a shoot. There's TFP (Time For Prints), TFCD (Time For CD), TFI (Trade For Images), paid assignments - paying you, and paid assignments - you paying the photographer. You will need to specify what type of work you're looking for in your profile. In the beginning you will probably only be able to find work in TFP, TFCD, TFI, and paid assignments - you paying the photographer. Later on you will find more work where you are paid and can request to only do paid work.
Step3
Set up and go to shoots - After you have found a photographer that wants to work with you, figure out what sort of compensation will take place, set up a time and place for the shoot, discuss any sort of rules/expectations for the shoot, ask if you need to do your own hair/makeup/bring clothing, etc.
Often times, models will bring an escort for extra safety measures. I recommend bringing an escort to at least your first shoot with the photographer. After you become more comfortable with that photographer then you can choose to leave your escort at home.
Try to be relaxed and pose naturally. Photographs say a lot about how you're feeling. If you look stressed or nervous, the pictures will show that.
Be cooperative, because nobody likes a demanding model. Also, before you leave, be sure to thank the photographer and anyone else who helped with the shoot.
Step4
Keep in touch with photographers - After the shoot, be sure you know when you will receive your compensation for the shoot and if you have to return to the studio to pick up photos or if they will send them to you. Especially keep in touch after compensation is received if you and the photographer had a good shoot together. But regardless on your experience, always credit photographers for their work. If you don't, you will be looked down upon.
Step5
Network - Try to get as many contacts in the modeling industry as you can. Try to work with a variety of photographers, hairstylists, makeup artists, etc. This will ensure that you get exposure and have a decent amount of work to show to future clients. Basically, the more you put yourself out there the more work you will do.
Be sure to attend events if possibly. Promote yourself. Don't be shy. If you want to get more work, you are the only one that can make it happen. So get out there and network!
oh and I almost froget :
# Keep yourself well-groomed
# Don't party the night before a shoot - they can tell
# Keep an open mind and don't stop trying!
