ELEPHANT GNOSIS:: Looks like I’m a goner. Doomed. And no-one to carry on the family business. .. the recent apparently pixilated avatar of rage already a distant and http://elephantgnosis.wordpress.com/HOME | hi,
i've searched and searched but can't find anyone with this problem.
all my mp3's are stored by artist/album in their own folders with very high quality folder.jpg files for the album art.
using the 10/06 release, when i view by icon (big or small) the icons look terrible.
however, if i do an allmusic lookup the album thumbnail gets refreshed (presumably with allmusic's thumbnail) and looks fantastic. the weird thing to me is the refreshed .tbn filesize is*way smaller than the folder.jpg file i have in the album folder and yet it looks so much better...
i've tried just about everything i can think of including deleting the contents of the album/thumbs directory but still no success.
i never had this problem in past releases.
thanks in advance if you can figure this one out for me. *
use left thumbstick to take screenshots, they are saved (by default) under xbmc/screenshots CD Baby: Rock: Punk:: FUTURE IN PLASTICS: U Look Like a Model: power rock. punk meets barrel-house blues Look for music by singer Mike Davis in his new band Glue Factory. http://cdbaby.com/style/117/allHOME |
no need to be embarrassed - it happens to the best of us.
i'm just glad it's sorted and i don't have to hunt more jpeg/picture related bugs :p
cheers,

ok, here 'ya go.
before and after following these instructions from the manual:
"note: if your thumbs dont display correct even though u have done everything like i told you, go to xbmc\albums\ and delete the file mymusic5.db (this is the music database for xbmc – you can only delete it within xbmc itself – not via ftp)
still trouble: delete all the thumbs in xbmc\albums\thumbs"

after connecting to allmusic and using their thumbs....not something i want to do for 700+ albums! *???

and again, my folder.jpg images look great in any other image viewers.
thanks!
how about also posting the example folder.jpg files.
for instance, are they progressive jpgs?
are they being loaded over smb, or are they local files (don't think it actually matters for music thumbs though).
what happens if you view the folder.jpg's using my pictures?
d'oh!!!!!!!!
first off, let me apologize for being a total idiot here *
i ****assumed**** that all my folder.jpg files had been transferred over but as it turns out, when i used this mp3 fat-x renamer program it only transfers mp3's...not jpg files. about a year ago when i used this program i found this out the hard way but completey forgot that little nuget of info when i redid my mp3 collection a few weeks ago.
jmarshall, i took your good advice and decided to view the non-existant folder.jpg files using my pictures.
i'm so completely and utterly embarrased! *:joker:
