| | movies only play for about 10 minutes and then you get kicked back to the menu. you can play the movie again and skip to were you left off. for a movie of 15 mins it is a little annoying, to watch lotr is getting very annoying to start and skip more then 30 times. :)
it happens with all the .mpg and .avi files i have.

tested the cvs with the new samba version and the problem was still there. now tested it with the last cvs and the bug is gone.

i'm not using samba, i'm running the video directly from my hard drive.
i also am experiencing this problem. i'll be watching something, and suddenly xbmc will kick me out of the movie, and bring me back to the "my video" list.
i am not trying to play a movie though, just a ~23 minute episode from a series. it is in '.avi' format. i've had this problem with a fair amount of files so far. i can watch the first 5 episodes of a series, then can't watch 2, then can watch the final 3. it's weird. =p
i am running the files directly off of my xbox hard drive. as i already mentioned they are in .avi format. xmbc is not my dashboard, i am running it off of evox. i doubt it is a codec problem, but hey, what do i know? ;)
any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance.
if this is over samba, it might have been fixed by the new samba code, try a build that has the newer samba implementation.
i got excatly the same problem. i first noticed it with a late april cvs build. i'm still trying to figure out the cause...
