    I am trying to load a movie onto layer 1 (over a picture) and I have that down.

    The effect I am trying imitate can be found at:

    click one of the categories, then check one of the individual projects after you come to the category page. Then click "read more" at the bottom right-hand corner.

    That part I've got.

    Then click "back" and the text rolls up and disappears.

    My problem is this: I am using "loadMovieNum" and two separate external SWFs (one to unfold the text and a second to roll it up). THe problem is that there is a jump when the first SWF is unloaded (and all the SWFs disappear) and the second SWF begins.

    I checked out Kirupa's tutorial on transitioning between external SWFs. Is this the answer, just use the single button? Seems rather complicated, but I like the idea of having just one external SWF that pauses at the midpoint and then continues after the button is released a second time.

    Or is there a simpler way? I have about 90 projects to do.

  • you dont need 2 separate external SWFs juts one all you do is

    make 3 layers, the 1st as the actions, the 2nd as layer names and 3rd the content.

    basically what you do is this.

    in the extrenal swf create the animation that displays the text then miss a couple of frames and create the animation of the text going away. now what you need to do is in the "layer names" layer incert a blank keyframe (F6) on the frisrt frame and call it "in" now were the animation is going away give it a name called "out".

    this is the basic, i have attached an example of what i mean just have a look at it
    38496

    the AS you want to use in your main movie is

    _level1.name of movie clip.onPress = function():Void {

    this.gotoAndPlay("in");
    }
    _level1.name of movie clip.onPress = function():Void {

    this.gotoAndPlay("out");
    }

    i guess that you know how to load the movie so im not bothering in typeing that.

    hope this helps,

  • nice way to work with lables...
