The Internet Corp. for Assigned Names and Numbers Monday began accepting applications for a test group of five domain registrars as it begins moving registration away from the government-sanctioned Network Solutions, which controls the majority of ".com," ".net," and ".org," domain names.

Web site following its meeting in Singapore last week. Companies wishing selection and
accreditation in the trial program must pay $2,500 by March 29. Other applicants can apply after June 25 for a fee of $1,000.
