Just before noon, internet.com's Internet Stock Index had inched up 2.65, or .53 percent, to 504.24, the Nasdaq Composite had climbed 8.09 to 2,851.20 and the Dow Jones industrial average had climbed 2.53 to 11,080.98.
Digital Island (ISLD) had jumped 5-13/16 to 24-11/16. The company, which provides networking services to Internet businesses, Tuesday teamed with Inktomi Corp. and Real Networks Inc. to broadcast video, audio and other live events on the Internet. Real was off 1-13/16 to 86-1/8 and Inktomi had gained 2-3/4 to 118-1/2.
HotJobs.com (HOTJ) had soared 4-11/16 to 34-11/16. The company Tuesday announced plans to air two 30-second commercials during next year's Super Bowl. Last year, HotJobs spent more than $2 million, or almost half its annual revenue, on a single Super Bowl ad.
