The Australian Broadcasting Authority (ABA) announced it will use additional funding handed down in the Federal government's new budget for work associated with the regulation of online services.
Seven of the ABA's $10.5 million granted will be used over a four year period for the implementation of a regulatory framework for online content, proposed under the recently announced Broadcasting Services Amendment (Online Services) Bill 1999.
